Job Description

v Maintain an in-depth understanding of the Nigerian Legislature and Judiciarynews to deliver confident writing at multiple levels of sophistication.

v Cover court cases with utmost timeliness and be abreast of all news in the legal space as it relates to business and financials

v Ensure timely breaking news across your beats and other beats assigned

v Conduct interviews and represent the company at functions, press briefings, and general events

v Cover all categories of stories according to Nairametrics content plan i.e. features, explainers, listicles how-tos, etc.

v Create original content and enhance existing content while incorporating SEO best practices.

v Brainstorm, research, conduct analysis and contribute ideas for content that are of interest to the target audience.

v Build a large network of connections across your beats and scope of work.

Basic Requirements

v  Minimum of LLB or any related discipline

v  At least 3 years of writing experience in a digital or print media

v  At least 2 years of experience covering Judiciary and Legislature

v  Good command of English both in speaking and writing

v  Effective storytelling skills

v  Experience in interacting with people at all levels

v  Highly social personality with good people network and a natural zeal to keep up with social, business, financial, economic, legal, and political trends

v  Availability to work on a hybrid base.
